My hunting buddy and I secured an early 1700's home as a detecting site Sunday afternoon :)

We hunted for a few hours and pulled some nice relics as well as coins!

He dug two silver G Dub Ya's, two Rosies, the biggest keg spicket eva and a really, really cool musket trigger housing :o

I was just begging to find a Barber...

Minutes later I had my first Barber dime, an EF 1910!!!

It will fit in nicely between my 1891 Seated and 1916 Merc ;)

My relics included some really cool suspender clasps, a button (matches one I found a few weeks ago on the other side of the county, they both say "Treble Plated") and assorted buckles!

I also dug three Wheaties... 1928, 1935 and a 1944 S.

We just knew there had to be more silver at this joint and made plans to return Monday morning.

We just could barely wait to start swingin'!

Before my buddy knew it... he had found a 1945 War Nickel... then a 1927 Walking Liberty Half, a 1945 Merc and yet another War Nickel this one a 1943!!!

All I found was this bad bear pictured below.... ::)

I guess it was time for my MineLab to pay for itself ;D

Thanx for looking at yet another boring ol' coppa brought to you by...

:D

Oh, I was dancin' ;)

I almost wanted to leave after finding that beauty!

The scan does the coin no justice at all :'(

You can clearly read the edge of the coin which reads "One Hundred For A Dollar".

It is by no means as worn as the scan leads you to believe!

Here are some scans of the other items I recovered...

Thanx for lookin guys!

Oh My God!!! Wow, Nickel_B, I wouldn't mind finding that Copper..... :o :o :o :o

That is a very rare find, indeed. I'd get that one professionally cleaned, then slabbed. That's a banner find!!!

Congrats,

Re: If you like boring old copper click here...

Thanx Captn_SE!

I plan to do just that ;)

It weighs in at 13.3 grams or 205 grains to give you an example
of how much coin there is left after 214ish years ;D

These when minted were about +/-208 grains or +/-13.5 grams...

Let's just say when I picked it up out of the hole... I knew I had a serious coin in my hands!

Re: If you like boring old copper click here...

Excellent coin! Excellent condition, although its being dug will reduce the value of course. I would imagine it is still worth about $400 though.

Cheers!
