Metal Detecting
On my way to a site to detect I saw a directional sign for a yard sale, so I turned to go check it out. I bought a practically new 20lb propane tank that was full for $15 bucks and a really super nice backpack to carry my detectors in for $5 bucks. That was a steal of deal! Wanting more I asked the young lady if I could have her permission to detect her yard. After I assured her that I would cover my plugs and leave no sign she agreed. I managed to find a couple of Mercury dimes and a
Silver
1968 Canadian Quarter. I got lucky there as well, because in 1968 Canadian quarters were struck in two different metals. 88.7 million were stuck in nickel and 71.4 million were struck in 50% silver.

After I finished up there I headed on to the site I that had planned to go to in the first place. I hunted it before but wanted to go over it once again with a different detector. While I was there I saw a man get out of a heating & air truck parked in the driveway across the street. I wanted to ask him where would be the best place to get a cleaning product for the coils on my air conditioners. He gave me a place to go and about that time the owner of the home came out and we all started talking about metal detecting. The next thing you know the owner, offered without me even asking, permission to detect his yard. I thanked him, but I told him that I was down in my back and wore out and I would have to come back after resting up for a few days. He said anytime would be fine.

I've got a Minelab CTX3030 coming Monday or Tuesday. I want to see what all the talk is about. I can't wait to try it out on some sites that I've already detected.
