mexican silver coin pendant

[Carolina Gold]

This is the silver coin I found. someone made it into a pendant and it has more wear on the date side. strange markings, says "*8R.M,1845.M.F.10D.20G" and "LIBEREAD" in the middle. "REPUBLICA MEXICANA" on the bird side. Nice and heavy. First silver for me.

Wow, what a find. Your coin appears to be a 1/2 Reale. If it was in MS condition it would be worth a lot of money, say over $200. I'd say you should take it to a coin dealer and see what it's really worth. What a fantastic find. You better go back and look for some more.
