6 or 7 hours of tight grid on a previously hunted site.
Very happy to get any numbered buttons, even if in this condition.
The thimble though not quite complete, is "close enough" to cross it off the list.
And a couple coins, and a nice decorated tombac button, which is cleaner than it looks in the pic.
One of the tokens is a first for me, so all in all a happy day.

Very cool finds! Love that thimble and coppers. That early button looks great as well (looks like it's copper?). Congratulations!

It's amazing how much stuff you miss isn't it? We are in the same situation in a field we pounded. Take your time in a tight area and look at the results! Awesome! Everyone should take this advice. Today my brother in law got a RR-20 Vermont, a 1787 Conn, (ID to follow), a beauty 1805 LC, a KG, and a clipped, yet to be determined coin. That makes 10 more in 2 short hunts. Keep at it!!!!

Always great to get on a pounded site, you did well on the finds. Liking the button and the tokens, very productive hunt. Congrats

Yes it is. With a "normal" pace, and swing you miss fully 75% of the area. When your on the iron patch and signals are thick, you can still miss stuff even with a reduced forward speed. When I slow down I check every sound with short sweeps in many directions. This site was hunted at least 3-4 times before, and there were more non-ferrous targets than shown, musket balls, lead, foil, rivets.

Congrats on a productive day.
Nice coppers and still looking for a Silver Thimble.

Silver thimble is a tough find. I don't recall too many posted over the years. Mine is not even quite complete, but I'm not expecting another any time soon...
