Any help in identification would be great!

This was found along a creek in Central Texas and I am guessing it is a spoon chisel or some farming tool from the mid to late 1800's. The bill is flat on top which but concave underneath. The tip was obviously hit repeatedly due to the evidence of the handle but I have no idea what this is. Any help would be appreciated!

I think you're on the right track. Kind of reminds me of a woodworking chisel I once saw. It sort of hollows out an area, like a spoon bowl?
Or with the notch in the end, a nail puller?
Interesting find.
