I took my father-in-law, and 6 yr old, out into the woods to find some mushrooms and decided it would be best to take the detector along too. You know... just in case. I basically held it out in front of me (should an object be directly in my path) while scouring for mushrooms. There were a couple of iron grunts from the occasional square nail then had a decent, deep mid 50's signal (Garrett AT-Pro). I dug a clump out and carefully extracted this early Jesuit trade ring (second one this year). I searched the immediate area and also found a lead 'whizzer'. Zero mushrooms.

Actually I am not sure. The ring was found right in the area that I have dug up the trade items. It appears to be made of 'pewter'. It was buried down about 10 inches in fairly solid ground. You have more experience than inhave...you think this may be from a different timeframe?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
