So you are totally at the mercy of the museum and the land owners. in one way, I understand the reasons for this but it still has to be challenging to give up some of the spectacular finds that you find.
    For the privilege of hunting dirt like that I would gladly deal with those kinds of hassles LOL! Talk about a good problem to have!

    Always enjoy Crusader's finds and posts. Like most everyone else, I'd love to get to the point where my finds were considered museum worthy! Thanks again for the inspiration and education, and congrats Crusader!

    My banner vote is going in as well. Just a fascinating and incredibly personal find. Would love to be able to see the person who lost it. Thanks for sharing.

    UPDATE;

    They have finally agreed with my date line & started the Treasure process;

    ''Verdict on the ring is that it does need to go through treasure. I still haven’t heard back from BLANK but the BM have directed me to the following for comparison:

    Congrats on the confirmed treasure!

    I was wondering if any experts on heraldry have been looking into that coat of arms? The ring had activated my curiosity but all I could determine was that the star means that the owner of the ring was the 3rd to hold the title and arms (I think, heh). It would be awesome if the item could be linked with a specific person, and I'd be very interested in any updates regarding original ownership.
