I did some research and found a nice area to explore. Me and a friend found a cellar hole in no time. Luckily it was all under tree cover so no long grass to deal with at all. There was no modern trash and in the end we pulled a total of 14 coins. It was a mix of mostly tokens and a few coins. They mostly all dated to the early 1800’s. I found 9 coins and a great little bell and my friend found 5 coins and a nice masonic buckle. My best coin also turned out in the best shape. Its a 1818 US matron head large cent. I took great care in tooth picking the crust off that one. Also i was shocked when i popped out a complete little old bell. If anyone has any info on the bells age or type please let me know. I found a bent and holed mystery object that i hope can be identified as well. I was hoping for a old silver coin as well but in that era of time when they were using tokens any silver was scarce around here but that wont stop me from looking next time I’m there. HaHa
I found other cellar hole sites nearby this one as well but the are all in the open so they will have to wait until the grass dies off. I hope they produce as well as this one did. My buddy did beat me on the tick count though. He got four to my zero. HaHa
Thanks for looking! [emoji2][emoji106]

Very nice hunt man! Excellent research and finds. My best guess for that mystery piece is a strap holder for a saddle, which would have been covered in leather. Dunno

Great finds and cool cellar hole. When approaching such sites, where are coins more likely to be? There must be a ton of nails too. Love the bell too.
