Its been a very slow couple months with Silver finds...but yesterday paid off.

Went out with a buddy from work that has started getting into detecting. Ended up hitting an old park near Dallas that has been beating to death I'm sure. no less then 30 mins of detecting , I got solid 13-47.

I dug down about 3 inches and thought it was a token when it flipped up, Then I saw what it was!!

its in decent shape, 1918 Walking half dollar.

This was the first one in 2 years so I was stoked!!

The BIG Plus was me not getting tore up by chiggers like the week before!

thanks for looking!

I went to Target store and bought some "PREMIUM INSECT REPELLENT" made by "Sawyer" and contains permethrin. You spray it on the outside of your pants and shirt. You can also spray it on your boots. At least spray it on the pants leg cuffs. It is supposed to keep the insects off you. You are NOT supposed to use it directly on your skin. I haven't tried it yet, as other health issues have kept me home. Nice walker, I hope I don't any ticks this year.

I thought we had it bad in PA with our tics and mosquitos, but those chigger bites look painful. Love the Walker, awesome recovery. Congrats!!

D-N-D, thanks for posting the acquisition numbers on you CTX, as well as photos of the recovery. Beautiful coin!
BTW, I am convinced God left chiggers as part of the Creative Order simply to make us thankful to Him when they DON'T show up!

Great job...BTW#2, try some of the older site parks in the East Grand neighborhoods of Dallas...there are still some great things to find there.
