Hello All,

Been digging in Utah and Colorado and met some fantastic new people there, digging some awesome Utah-related finds (which was my goal!)--but I'm saving those stories for an upcoming article. So here are the finds from our beach vacation instead. Went out four nights and dug until well after dark, out with the mosquitos feasting on me and the fish (?) brushing up against my legs in the pitch black dark while in the chest-deep water at midnight. :-[

Ended up with almost $30 in change, which was the most I've ever found in a trip. Also got an oddball Kennedy Half, which I've only dug 2 of in 27 years. Strangely enough I dug my only Susan B. Anthony dollar ever at a beach several years ago... go figure!

Too many pairs of sunglasses to count (all trashed and scratched/bent). These were the nicest ones in the photo below. Chevrolet fob, Samsung Galaxy 8 cell phone (trashed), box cutter, junk jewelry, etc:

And here are the coin and jewelry finds from the four evenings digging. Coins everywhere. Literally non-stop digging (exhausting, for 6 hours on several nights):

It really just took finding five gold rings last year to break the beach gold ring curse. The baby in the photo below isn't very heavy, but gold is gold.

Besides, I made up for it with the 14K gold monster band I dug in Florida near the beginning of our vacation:

Silver isn't normally what beach hunters are after, but I dug close to 1.8 ounces of .925 sterling at the beach, which is really a tremendous total in a short time for beach hunting. Some beautiful rings, including a claddagh ring, and sweet silver turtle earring with stones. Wish there'd been more gold this year, but I can't complain!

Been great to dig some more gold and silver, but it's time to hit the plantation homes again. Back to the Civil War relics and Spanish Silvers!

Cheers,

Buck

Punch a hole in that AA token with a square nail and keep it as a good luck key fob. It's a great conversation starter to talk to people about your crazy metal detecting hobby!
