THE LAST TIME I WAS AT THIS SENECA SITE I FOUND 3 JESUIT RINGS. BETWEEN THE RAIN AND WEEDS IT HAD GOTTEN TOO TALL TO SWING. THE FARMER DIDN’T GET TO PLANT, THEY ARE NOW GETTING READY TO PLANT WINTER WHEAT THIS TIME OF YEAR. DRIVING BY THE OTHER DAY I SEE IT HAS BEEN WORKED UP AGAIN! A SHOT AT THIS FIELD BEING PLOWED 2 TIMES IN A YEAR! I RAN HOME QUICK AND GOT MY MACHINE AND HEAD OUT. WE HAD GOTTEN 3 ¼” OF RAIN THE DAY BEFORE BUT THE FIELD IS KIND OF SANDY, SO MUD WAS NOT AN ISSUE. THIS SENECA SITE IS FROM 1655-1675. THE JESUIT PRIEST WERE PREACHING CHRISTIANITY TO THE SENECA AND BROUGHT TRADE ITEMS. NOT TOO LONG AFTER BEING IN THE FIELD I PULLED A NICE TRIANGLE POINT! THEN CAME THE MUSKET BALL AND IT JUST KEPT COMING. I SPOTTED A NICE RED GLASS TUBE BEAD! IT’S NOT EASY TO FIND THESE BEADS BECAUSE THEREFORE SMALL SIZE IN A PLOWED FIELD! GOT A REALLY GOOD SIGNAL THINKING IT’S ANOTHER MUSKET BALL. SCANNING THE GROUND FOR BEADS WHILE I WAS DIGGING, THERE IT IS WAS! RIGHT ON TOP OF THE GROUND, LESS THAN A FOOT AWAY, ANOTHER RING, ALTHOUGH IT BROKEN I STILL GOT THE TOP OF THE RING! I FOUND A COUPLE OF GUN FLINTS, ONE IS ALMOST SEEN THROUGH WITH A GREEN YELLOW COLOR. SO THE TALLY FOR THE DAY OF 4 HOURS:
4 TRIANGLE POINTS
LOOKS LIKE A BRASS AWL
9 MUSKET BALLS
5 BEADS
1 SMALL BENGAL THE RING
2 GUN FLINTS AND A MYSTERY ITEM, THE LAST PICTURE IS ALL FOUR RING REUNITED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 300 YEARS. AMAZING TO FIND ONE LET ALONE 4! HEAVY RAIN TODAY, LOOKS LIKE MAYBE SUNDAY BEFORE I CAN GET BACK, CAN'T WAIT!! DIG EVERYTHING.

It's a privilege to pull these artifacts out of the ground for preservation . To hold them in your hand- priceless

Yeap, whats bad for the farmers is normally good for us. I'm still waiting to see the affect of the heat wave on the drilling, as there should have been a lot of direct drilling into stubble which hasn't happened yet.

Congrats on another great piece of history.
