It’s been over a year since I’ve found a IHP and I’ve probably found only 5 ever. I went to the park down the street where I go if I’ve have limited time. It rarely produces, but it’s the park I found my best relic ever a 1861 Infantry French Horn hat pendent. Well all over our local rivers have sand bottoms that go very deep never really had much luck, but the park has a stream running behind it, but it’s about 10ft in some very thick brush. So since I happened to have a machete in the truck I did a little whacking. I found the IHP and a smashed round ball in the cut to the stream. To my surprise it had that rocky bottom I see on many river videos. Not having much time or my scoop I just picked up so broken glass that was scattered all on top. Hoping to get back in there and do some water hunting. I’m excited. Thanks for looking. IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG

I don't find very many IH cents either, so I know the excitement of digging one. It means other old things must be nearby. Congrats

I shouldn't be surprised , all of the Indian Head cents were minted in Philadelphia -with the exception of the 1909-S .

It’s hard finding them down South. I’ve found over 50 V nickels in my 5 yrs and maybe 5 IHPs. Never ever found a LC. Thank the Lord we have Spanish.
