Got my 11th gold coin last week. The site where this came from has turned up spanish reales back to the 1750's for us.

Any numismatic buffs care to venture a grade? The reverse seems to be a nicer strike, while the front isn't quite as crisp (weak strike/die?). So what would the net grade be?

thanx!

Great gold coin. Thank you for sharing. No gold coins here yet. Am wondering really if anyone had one here in SE KY.

I gotta say WOW on the 11th one. That is amazing.

Congratulations,

Awsome find!
the only way to get a true grade is to sent it to an independant grading service, such as PCGS, ANACS, NGC etc. your local coin shops should be able to arange shipping to PCGS or NGC,, But ANACS will accept coins directly from you. I REALLY like their service because they will grade ANY coins. PCGS and NGC wont grade "problem coins" ANACS will take any problems into account then assign the coin a "NET" grade. your coin will always be worth more "graded" than "ugraded"

Awesome job Tom!!!!, that's a very nice looking half eagle. I would agree that the condition of the coin would grade XF. Congrats.

Tom,

I think most of the adjectives describing your find have been used up already! Here's hoping you make it a "baker's dozen" before the year is out.
