I was at the beach today with my family and decided to take my son for a walk to look for treasures. We found him a lobster shell and a crab shell and as I was searching a low area on the beach I noticed something round. I got excited thinking that I just found a flat button on the surface but when I picked it up I got a nice surprise! Only my second ever standing liberty quarter!! I was a little more excited than my almost two year old lol but he was happy finding shells. It’s amazing what is right in front of you when you know what to look for. I sure know what beach I’ll be going to with my detector next chance I get!

I'm always surface hunting without a machine. I've found lots of junk jewelry and change, never anything good..way to go and make the most out of those moments.

I found an indian head penny on the surface while detecting the beach. Only good thing on that beach actually. I know a lot of people that water hunt and they havent been able to tell me how things get moved around in the water. Its still a mystery to me. Keep your eyes open for gold!

The ocean currents and waves from the wind are constantly moving things around. That’s what is so great about beach hunting. Especially in the winter time here, things can change daily.
