After numerous unproductive hunts, I recently secured a permission through a family friend on a farmhouse dating from the early 1900s (with the foundation being much older) and with fall semester rapidly approaching I made it out there to dig as many holes as I possibly could. With the temperature in the 90s I managed to dig 2 mercs, a 1934 and a 1940, a full harmonica reed, a broken (aluminum?) comb, some horse tack, a beautiful bell, a Model T Ford part, a silver plated spoon, and a silver spoon bowl with a beautiful rose design and a H hallmark on it. The following day I hit a couple of bucket listers at a different site but I am going to make a separate post for that hunt. Any ID/age on the spoon bowl would be greatly appreciated, thanks for looking!

Great hunt! Congrats on the silvers. Looks like you have the hang of it, they should start popping out for you now.

Congratualtions on the nice relic hunt! :icon_thumleft:

The Model T coil part and Harmonica reed is cool (I rarely find them intact).

Congrats on the silvers and your relic identification. I would estimate the spoon bowl to be 1890-1910. There are plenty of goodies to be found in your area

I may be way off here and don’t have time to look tonight but I know that the Netherlands used “date letters” which were in a circle. Please don’t put too much stock into this theory until I or somebody else has a chance to research it. Well done persevering until you found a great site. You’re addicted now
