Nice find on the badge. I find it very interesting. Looks like it belonged to Prescott Police officer #3. Might be one of the first issued by the
Prescott P.D. Prescott was founded in 1864. Might be worthwhile to find out when the first Police Dept. was established. The following
link is to an antique badge site that has an email & phone #. Maybe the person there can give you some info. Cool find !!! Love to know who
officer #3 was !!!
Value of Antique Badge with Maker's Mark: 'C.D. REESE' | Badge Values

Also, from the "Value" page of their site under; "Owner" some tips on tracking down the officer who had badge #3

What Makes a Badge Collectible and Valuable? | Badge Values
Owner – If the badge has the name of the officer on it, and especially if there are records showing that person working at that time, it add significantly to the value and authenticity of the badge. Generally, names on the front of the badge add more value than a name on the reverse. Most badges do not have a name on them, but sometimes the officer number can be used in combination with department or government records to identify the officer.

Outstanding! The Prescott badge is museum worthy and their department historian would probably appreciate photos of it. Congrats! Sub 8-)
