Hey everyone,

Haven't been posting much lately. My hunts haven't turned up much recently and my detecting time has slowed down after getting married.

I got done with work early so I ended up hitting the dirt for about 5 hours today. I managed to find a war nickel and a crushed silver item I can't identify. Looks like it used to be circular and it's marked "Sterling". Can anyone help ID it?

Also, found a hypodermic needle today. Yikes. Seattle's homelessness and drug addiction issue is a mess. I contacted the city to come dispose of it.

Here are some more shots of the mystery silver.

Thanks for looking all, hopefully more to report next week! Good luck in the hunt.

Nice to see you’re still getting out. 5 hours of hunting AFTER work ain’t to bad either. Nice variety of finds. Sorry I have no idea what the silver is but I agree with Argentium it could be a cigar tube piece. Congrats

Cool stuff, lol, you made a phone call just for one needle? I don’t even see that there is an actual needle left on the end of it. I’d have just thrown it away myself.

Ya, still a needle there. There weren't any trash cans nearby and I wasn't too keen to carry it with me. Seattle has an app that let's you report when you see one and they come pick it up within 24 hours. Makes it pretty easy.

Congrats on all the coins and mystery silver. Im no help there.
Thanks for disposing of the needle properly. I wouldn't have carried it either.
I feel you on the drug and homeless problems.
Lost so many friends to heroine I need two hands to count them all. Its a huge problem in this country.
Keep swinging away washingtonian

Nice finds. My guess on the mystery silver would be the top to a high end perfume bottle, something a lady would like to display on her dressing table in days gone by. They had sets of silver handles brushes, combs, and other beauty accesssories so it could be part of a set. Just a guess, keep swingin.
