Silver Busted today!
Went out today and dug this on the very first hole. Was in an area where dirt had been pushed over an embankment. I think this may be one of the best coins I have ever dug. Ive dug a lot of large cents us and colonial but not many old US silvers. I'll take it !
Any guesses on what you think it would grade?

Looks nice, but I don't see a denomination on it anywhere. Is it a quarter or half dollar?

Half Dollar. Its denomination is stamped on the edges.

 DEPLORABLE
Less than a million minted. That coin , in POOR condition is worth $195.
I would get that coin graded and slabbed.
Big congratulations and Banner.

Nice find . As far as grading I wouldn’t bother. If your going to keep it why waste the money. If you do get it graded it will likely come back as genuine because of ground action. This grade unless it is a very rare coin may actually hurt retail value. Enjoy it ; it’s a great find . As for your question both NGC and PCGS are equally respected.
