Hello Folks!

Went back to the old army fort hoping to find some nice coins and/or relics. Decided to hunt an area in the woods where soldiers used to train next to a dried up pond. I've found several silver coins close to the pond in the past, so I thought I'd give it another try detecting this area again. Got a strong 87 quarter reading on my XLT at two inches down. Started digging the target when my digger struck a root just below the surface. Started digging a little bit more being very careful not to scratch the coin then used my pinpointer confirming by the sound it was indeed under the root. Used my finger to brush off the reeded edge revealing this! :D.... I love seeing the reeded edge of a silver coin against the soil know matter how it comes out of the ground which is one of the nicer things in this hobby to see in my opinion 8)

I was hoping for a SLQ or Barber since I haven't found either this year. I eased the coin out with my fingers and discovered it was a '36 Washington :) ....I'll still take it, however ;D

Towards the end of the day, I got another nice 87 signal at another location on the fort, and dug this '58 Washington ;)

The '58 cleaned up nice and shiny :D
