This weekend finds consisted of 4 short hunts, about 5-6 hours swinging.

My favorite find was a 36 VDI on the Nox. This is very high, silver dollar range or more likely beer can, but the signal was tight, small and deep.

My biggest ring so far out of the turf at a 1920’s Park.

Initially thought the β€œP” was for plated after Sterling, but it is a vintage Navajo style ring by Jane Popovich.

Next site my first big silver this year, sniffed it out in the trashiest area. Thought it was going to be another piece of aluminum flashing, was quite surprised to see the big roundness.

Here is the weekend handful.

And one mystery item....

Range up in flatbutton range at 1800’s farm. About the size of a quarter, but thin.

Good luck out there!

Nice ring Thad  And the Walker is what I consider big silver. I see people calling quarters "big silver"....nah, gotta be half dollar or larger in my book :tongue3:

Nice finds ! Have you got a date range on the ring maker ? The chip / resin inlay work was big in the 1960's and 70's - I would guess it was made in the Southwest - perhaps you have that too - very nice .

Thx! There are a lot of listings on Etsy and EBay with the JP logo, under vintage silver jewelry or silver Native American jewelry, but I could not find anything online about Jane Popovich (she has an Native American name as well). They were selling online for a decent amount for silver jewelry.

Thx Steve! That was my 4th silver half in the last 18 months , but still waiting for my first silver dollar. The Nox does not give an overload signal so I think I’ll have a better chance at truly big silver than my old detector.

Cool ring!

I found an Indian-style ring as well, with a similar stamp:

IMG_4771.JPG

I looked it up on this cool little blog. Turns out it's a hallmark used by Bell Traders who made American Indian style jewelry in the 1950's:

bt.jpg

I guess at one point turquoise/Indian jewelry was very popular. Great job on the walker too! I'm still looking for my first silver half.
