Found a couple more buttons at the site where I found the British Militia button. 2 small buttons, cuff buttons? They both have writing on the back, one is fairly readable but the other is toast, and they are both the same size. The first photo is the toasted button, second is a hue change so I could read the writing, and the last has a dime is for sizing. I think the button says "LONDON EMPER AU???" or "AU??? EMPER LONDON" or "EMPER AU??? LONDON" LOL Any ideas on this little button, like where it was made, date, etc? Thanks!

Oh the buttons have no decoration on the face.

Most likely says "London Imperial." British made and probably dates between 1820 and 1830.

It's a good sign, I would keep looking around there.

It will probably have to wait until spring. The weather has turned for the worse here. But who knows.... maybe next week it will be in the 50's!

I would saw with that kind of shank it must be very old.

I've gotten a few LC's and some square nails from this site. In the spring I want to ask for permission to the houses that are around the park.

There is some great History nice finds congrats

Thanks A2!

I need to grid it in the spring. I'll be retired by then and have the time!
