Got out for another night hunt with a buddy and things weren’t looking good. Things were so bad that we weren’t even finding light stuff. We walked for about two miles and we both had less then 30 cents each. We decided to stop detecting and just carry our equipment to another spot. We walked about another 1.5 miles and went back at it. This place was a little better since we both got a quarter right away. We hunted that particular area for the rest of the night and I ended up with $3+ in clad and my first Nox gold chain marked 14k. I have been wanting to find one for a while since these detectors are supposed to be good chain sniffers. I’m glad I can finally check that off my list. Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

Racso, just curious was the chain in dry or wet sand and do you recall what number the Nox was displaying it as? Oh and what setting were you in Beach 1 or 2, etc. Although your hunting conditions will be different than others, it always nice to have some sort of info for comparison :) Thanks!

I was hunting an ocean beach, wet sand. HH

Having many buckets to fill gives you motivation to get it done so keep on swinging :occasion14:

I was hunting the wet sand hunting on beach 1, sensitivity 24, recovery speed 6. The VDI out off the hole is 1-2 but in the ground wasnt good from what I can remember. Hope this helps and happy hunting.

Sweet find! I've never found a gold chain myself. Now it's time for you to find number 2!

They are hard to find even more so when I skip those VDI numbers since they translate to tiny aluminum pieces. There’s a lot of things you have found that I wish I could get my coil over. Good luck on your next hunt

Nice hunt...….I found my only gold chain last year but unfortunately it was only gold filled. I'm still looking for the real thing.

Thank you for the reply Racso. Confirms what others are encountering and what I see when test burying chains at the beach. Typically seeing solid 1 or 2 out of hole or just under a top layer of sand and then jumpy low numbers when buried deeper.

Thanks again Racso.
