So I decided to hike out about 45-60 minutes through the woods & up a mountain to get to a new site. Naturally there was a shorter, easier way to get there that I discovered later on, but anywho. The site had definitely been hit before. There was iron laying on top of rocks, and kids had turned the barn foundation into their local party spot - beer cans and broken bottles all over. It was looking pretty bleak except for an area that was cleared of rocks about 300 feet away from the root cellar. Dug an 1840 William Henry Harrison presidential campaign button (Harrison ended up being elected over Martin Van Buren and became the 9th president). This alone was enough for me to consider this a successful hunt. Then shortly after the button find, I stumbled upon a seven coin spill around a small piece of stone wall. A very exciting day to say the least. Here are the coins:

1856-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar
1878-CC Seated Liberty Dime (semi-key date!)
1877-S Seated Liberty Quarter
1876 Seated Liberty Quarter
1876 Seated Liberty Dime
1853 Seated Liberty Dime
1873 Indian Head Penny

A poor quality video, but a video nonetheless:

Wow! Epic spill! Did it ring up like a crushed can because of so much silver and was passed over by a previous detectorist tired of digging cans. Well done. Amazing!!! Congrats

You say by a small stone wall you found these coins . I do not think this was a spill . I think you found some coins that were hidden .What ever they were in rotted away I bet . Great discovery .

Holy crap, what a day. That was a serious bummer for someone back in the day to lose all that. Great job getting to a place that's not easy to hunt, looks like you were rewarded [emoji106]

Congrats on the Banner worthy finds! I voted Banner but am not sure it went through as my computer's mouse sends a double click every time I click on a link. Apparently the second click did not go through and with no acknowledgements from TNET, I am unsure the first click went through.

Nah it wasn't incredibly loud. Gave a coin signal at a fairly normal volume. The half dollar did ring up at a solid 95 on my machine though, which is pretty high.

That is a Banner caliber spill for sure. My vote is in! I'm sure almost every TNET member has at least one of those coins on their Bucket List. Major congrats fellow Mass hunter!
