Ironhorse and I went back to the site I dug the 1679 Charles II Twopence, and based on there being three very old coins we both thought the same thing... why couldn't there be a cob there! Even though the subject came up, and it did seem like it would be possible, I don't think either of us thought it was really going to happen... especially since the site went from feast on day one and closer to famine today. But if you dig all the sounds that have a chance sometimes it works out!

Thats a long time but those early sites can be few and far between and those later colonial sites rarely produce a cob. WTG

My 2nd choice for a subject line was... Another Holdie! :) But it has been so long since I had dug a cob it was starting to seem like it wouldn't happen, so I went with how long it has been.

That's a nice looking one too ! I'd put a heavy silver or gold ring through that hole and wear it on a chain !!

Great find! Love the Cobs. I find that round objects have a sweeter signal, your Cob looks like a half Reales size and more square than round. How did the signal compare? Sound like a silver dime or more like trash, but you were digging all? Congrats

congrats on the awesome find. it is always a great feeling to squeak out another great find out of a spot but you are doing it right by digging the signals that many would totally pass on. The Cool Factor? Super high of course. huge smile, right? from ear to ear and still smiling I bet!
