Very nice. I have 2 of those Lucky coin coasters, but they are 1877 Indian Head pennies. They about rang my ears off. Thought I just had another can, until I dug them. That's what you call a coin on steroids !

I've seen those big coins at the gift shop when I toured the US Mint in Philadelphia. They make one for about a dozen US old coins. Very cool find!

I wondered what those looked like .

About a month ago I worked a day at my Local Coin Store & a Man came in asking if we had any of those "Big" coin's then stated they were sold "at the mint in Washington " I stated there is no mint in DC , he replied sternly "yes there is as I bought my Big coins there 'showing me with his hands about an 8-9 inch round circle' being the new guy I did not argue with him. The most knowledgeable coin / paper guy was at the GA / FL game in FL so nobody was sure.

We came to the conclusion he was talking about the federal Reserve in Washington DC , & they were likely bought there years ago as the Man was I'd guess 75 y/o , guess? he could have got them in Philly.

He left no real happy & I truly wish we could have helped him ; I should have said try E-bey.

Cool Find OP

Measure it if you can.

I found a huge standing liberty quarter in the woods last year. Probably about the same size, but I’ll check.

1913 Buffalo Nickel Indian Head Novelty Coin Paperweight Medallion

These Giant 3" Metal Coin Replicas are popular with both the young numismatist as well as the seasoned pro. They're always a terrific conversation piece when we are telling stories about the "Good Old Days" when we earned "Big Money." Some of these Giant Coin Replicas are modeled after such popular Rare dates as the 1909 S V.D.B. Lincoln cent, the 1916 D Mercury dime, and the 1937 D 3-Legged Buffalo nickel.

Here are some other examples of these large novelty coins,
Dave

The home owners 5 year old twins follow me around the yard with their plastic buckets and shovels. When this giant coin popped out they were fighting for it until the little girl started crying, so she got it. I’m pretty sure it was brass.

WOW... that is a big un. I was going to suggest something. Take it to an engraver and have it turned into a Hobo Nickel. SD
