2 silvers and one's a bucketlister

C O L D hunt in Baltimore today with JF.
We started at 28 F and ended at 32 F. No wonder fingers and toes were cold all day.
We were out from 11:30 to 4:30.

First field we tested yielded nothing but clad, nary a wheat between us.

We moved west about 6 blocks to a field that had given me some relics last month and it did not disappoint.

JF started off the silver run with a sterling four-way cross medallion.

Not long after that I dug a vintage silver ring, though the hallmark is worn off, you can tell it's silver. .

We both managed some wheats, a couple from the 20s and then I dug a 9-inch deep key-slot escutcheon .

JF had to head home and I hung in there until the sun set behind the rooftops. A 27-28 signal on the Equinox 600 turned out to be a clad dime.
After replacing the plug I got a high tone just on the edge of the plug and from about 5 inches down a coin ball revealed a thin and small silver disk.
I popped the dirt off to read the words "HALF DIME".
This is a first for me, first half dime

Thanks Rook! 5 silvers have come form that second site we hit on Friday. I've dug a barber dime, the ring and the half dime. JF got the sterling medallion on Friday and a couple weeks back I took another hunting mate there and he got a war nickel, so the finds have spanned about 100 years.

I had just renewed my Baltimore City detecting permit that morning.

Thanks Trezurehunter! JF and I discussed "peeling back" a site by pretty much digging all the good signals, so dimes, cents, nickels and quarters all get dug. Removing these obvious targets may help in revealing others. This worked in this case.

Thanks Smokey! Hunting Herring Run Park over the last month and a half we've dug one Spanish silver, a two-cent piece, the half dime, several flat buttons, and couple relics that are from the 1800s. The old stuff is there but it's scattered, except for the buttons, which all seemed to be in one place.

Thx SweetRinger! Yes, I have not been able to find another example online. Without a makers' mark it is difficult. Someone who knows rings would be able to give a date range on this one.
