I did some recon today at a few places that were pretty far down on my list. Two were a bust and the last one only produced two targets.

First target of the day was loud, high, and shallow. I figured it was junk but was still gentle and that’s a good thing. Out pops a massive round golden goodie!

It’s my first pocket watch that’s solid gold and not plated, and it feels heavy! Not sure of the make but it’s a top-winder so it’s probably late 19th century

Next stop was an old faithful spot. It’s a challenge to find a single non-ferrous target, but if you do it’s typically old and something sweet. My only target at the site didn’t disappoint.

It an War of 1812 era officers button with silver gilt. It’s listed as a GI49 in Alberts book and stamped “27”. What a find!!!!!!

Apparently they’re rare to find stamped and are usually found plain (no number stamp) like the photo in Alberts. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1543108216.214921.jpg

I’m ecstatic about this button.

Well, I had a few more keepers including a large cent. I’ll try to post the them later.

Good hunts everyone

Steve
