It took a trip to England to find them, but, that's the fun of this hobby! The top coin is a 1696 William III shilling, the next line down on the left is a fragment of a 1279 Edward 1st long cross penny, the one on the right is a 1590-2 Elizabeth 1st silver penny, the bottom row on the left is a mid 4th century Constantine Roman bronze, followed by a 355 A.D. Constantius II Roman silver, and a 1659 Joseph Walford copper trade farthing. I recommend taking a detecting trip there if you can. Such tiring fun! :icon_thumright:

Glad that you enjoyed your trip and recovered some sweet finds. I have a few friends that have made the trip to England a few times. It would cost me somewhere around 4 thousand dollars to do that trip. I imagine it cost you more because you had to fly all the way from California

No, actually, it's $1900 for the one week trip, plus air fare, the 1st night lodging at the airport (less than $100), 3-4 nights dinner (averaging $20-40 each), any alcohol you want to have, and souvenirs of course. Everything else is included, including the export license and evaluations. This last trip cost me about $3500 all in. If I could have gotten a better air fare (like the year before) it would have been over $700 less.

Neither options are very valuable. Seen a few errors in the licences, not a big deal for a coin like that.

I need better photo's of both sides? (dad & I will give it a go but its pretty far gone where the letters are)

See if these are any better. I can try again if they aren't good enough. I did this indoors and the lighting make them look golden for some reason. The one on the left is the bronze and the one on the right is the silver.

That should be good enough for Cru'dad to analysis but it will be real tough as the lettering which is the most important part of IDing it is near impossible to read. However, this one will be your oldest coin - Denarius of circa 200AD

Thanks folks! :notworthy: If I find more Roman coins, I guess I should study up and learn more about them! :icon_thumleft:
