I have fond memories of a small hole in the wall bar in Fort Myers Fl in the early 1980’s. It was probably 12 foot wide and 30 foot long. Was located in the older downtown area and most patrons were elderly. I was in my 20’s but the appeal was that they served draft beer in a frozen mug for 50 cents. It would form slush as soon as it was poured. Great way to end the work day.

Dang Lairmo, I thought it would be a possum!

I've enjoyed Coors products upon a time but never heard of this. I admit they have a nice clean taste but I prefer the heavier lagers and stouts by Sam Addams and others. My idea of a light beer or pilsner often tastes a bit like skunk on first impression, but then my folks are from there. I regularly drink my winter beers at room temp in the winter and have been known to heat them. The flavor is much bolder in the cold months!

Best wishes and enjoy that slush, LOL!

I remember when you couldn't get Coors east of the Mississippi. Now, THAT was a long time ago!

Ain’t nothing wrong with drinking cheap beer for the most part, I remember buying a six pack of Papst Blue Ribbon at the PX at Fort Rucker Alabama for $1.75. There was another brand called “Ham’s Light” that was very likely to have been real horse piss in a can. Stay away from that stuff!

Not gonna lie, Keystone is my beer of choice. $7.99 for 15. 1st one I ever had was in college, thought it was nasty. 2nd and 3rd tasted alright. Now it’s all I buy.

1907 the Breweries in the Bavarian town of Bamberg tried to increase the price of the half litre from 10 Pfennig (which was actually about 2.5 cents) to 11 Pfennig.

The populace was shocked about dratic increase of the "staple food" espcially since the last Beer price increase was already 1797!

After a one week boycott on domestic Bamberg beer, the brewers caved in. Half litre beer was back at 10 Pfennig / 2.5 cents.

Sometimes I think those were better times.

I like ALL types of beers...my favorite is "Dead Guy Ale" by Rogue breweries....never drank any warm beer though. I used to have a buddy that would put his share on the engine while mine went to the truck bed in the winter. He would also set them on his wood stove in the shop...until he fell asleep under a truck and they all started exploding...lol :occasion14:
