    Pewter Military Button of some sort

    Update: this has been IDd as a 2nd Regiment South Carolina button from the Rev War.

    I dug this pewter button today that appears to have part of a number on the face. It looks like part of a number 3 (which is upside down in the pictures) and would make it a SC 3rd Button. I was using the XP Deus HF Round Coil and investigated an iffy signal. Out pops this button.

    I have talked to a few people that have found the Number 3 buttons around Savannah and they say that each button has a little different style of the number 3.

    So we have a positive ID- this button is a Rev War 2nd South Carolina Button- Francis Marion's Regiment before he became the Swamp Fox
