Beautiful point, although it looks more Woodland than Transitional Paleo/Early Archaic. Don't waste your time and money getting it authenticated when you found it yourself. You can take it to any of the Deep South artifact shows and there will be plenty of knowledgeable folks who can tell you what you have when they hold it in their hands as far as flaking, presence or absence of basal grinding, etc. Plus, you can avoid the risk of mailing it. How big is that thing anyway? Helluva find whatever type it turns out to be!

I’d carefully frame it on felt.

It would break easily if it were dropped on something hard.
