Heart Shaped Spanish Cob and more Goodies

First set of previously hunted fields yielded the draped bust and the 1/2 Real. 2nd and much older field I popped the clog clasp and my second ever Cob. It's a beauty. 1/2 Real shaped like a heart. The half cent sized object has me intrigued. It looks like it has a hole that is plugged with brass or some kind of other metal. Cant wait to get back out and sniff some more history out.

So Diver down in Florida has positively ID'd it as a 166X Potosi 1 Reale Assayer Antonio de Ergueta. So its a 1660s Potosi Bolivia 1 Real. My oldest coin and silver coin. Sawweeet.

So its a 1 real cut to half real size? If so, very common to find them that way. Most of mine have been heavily clipped or cut to sometimes half their original weight. Ive only got a few that are at near full and proper weight. Nice find. Doesnt get muchbetter for a mid Atlantic hunter

The conditions were incredibly brutal. They estimate that during colonial times 8 million Incan slaves died mining the silver for the spanish. Hard to fathom. The history behind those coins.
