I took my dad to the stamp act cellar hole again, last time he was there he found a 1798-1810 Navy Button, so he had high hopes of finding something else good. I told him to go check along the trail, in case somebody dropped something on it. Right next to the trail he got a signal and dug a beautiful solid silver colonial knee buckle. I was next to the cellar hole, trying to go through the all iron, and got a slightly iffy signal. It ended up being my first military button ever, an 1812 Light Artillery button in amazing condition. So far I have been very lucky at this site, hopefully the luck will last a little bit longer!

Very productive cellar with at least one wealthy visitor to have owned such a buckle. Thats a banner worthy buckle imo.

Awesome finds, especially the buckle. Colonial silver artifacts are so few and far between.

Hit that site to death! :blob7:

Thanks! I got him into metal detecting some time in late 2014/early 2015 or so. It's a great father son activity, and I always love getting a chance to go to a site with him. I hope to go to this site again tomorrow, as it seems like the quality of relics here is very high compared to my average site. Finding a site that had wealthy military people living there in the 1700's really gives you the chance of finding some very cool stuff.

I love the fact that you are out there detecting with your Dad. So nice that you are both enjoying this great hobby together. Both the knee buckle and the button are killer finds. Well done!!

That buckle is a real treasure. Somebody was bummed when that came up missing. That spot has produced some nice stuff. Well done.

The button is awesome, but the buckle stold itโ€™s glory.
