I went to my most productive cellar hole today, the one where I found the stamp act button, and decided to metal detecting along the trail near it. The trail was a road long ago, and was probably abandoned sometime in the early 1800's, shortly after the cellar hole was. Right in the middle of the trail I got a loud quarter signal, only an inch or two deep. I figured that it was probably a modern quarter dropped by hikers, but sure enough it was a big copper! I wiped the dirt off, and thought I had found a Liberty Cap large cent. When I cleaned it off at home, I realized that it was actually a Draped Bust. The date is almost impossible to see in these photos, but it is 1803, like every other draped bust I have found. My guess is that the mint sent a large shipment of 1803 dated large cents to this area, and that I why I find so many. Anyways, I'm happy to be off to a good start this year, and wish everyone luck in 2019!

I also found a dandy button, and few weird looking things that seem to be part of a necklace. I have no idea when it is from, considering I found them far away from the cellar hole. All the pieces were in the same hole too, which makes me think that they were once attached. I assume that each piece should have had a stone in the center, but I couldn't find any.
