My field of dreams keeps giving. Today I found my 3rd silver, an 1853-O Seated Half-Dime.
We are expecting Snow-mageddon starting tomorrow so it's nice to go out with a bang.

Will you attempt to clean it up or leave it as is? Nice find for sure! Gary

It's 75% silver and I already ran it under warm water with a brush. That is the cleanest I could get it. I would like to get the dark spots off and I'm open to suggestion on how to do that.

I'd leave that patina (black spots) on there. It took that girl a long time to get that way. JMHO.

Electrolysis will remove the stain, as will a scrub with baking soda and water paste.

Congrats on the sweet little coin!
