Weather in W PA has been in the mid 20’s with about an inch or so of snow on the not quite frozen ground. Great weather for lunch hour hunts!!

First unusual find at the 1860-1960 lost farm in the park woods.

Thought it was a Navy button until it started to clean up. Looks like the Boys Brigade pre-dated the Bot Scouts. Button is probably 1885-1910 range.

Also a flatbutton with some gilt, London backmark I think.

Then a Mascot Magic Token, I believe from around 1905, still doing research on this oddball.

Here are the buttons and tokens.

Then I got into a patch of briars that had a bunch of high tones, I like the sash buckles.

Then, of course the cutlery continues, spoon 3 for the year and fork 2, plus a knob.

And I saved the best for last...

This was a 27-28 signal in the area with all of this other stuff. Knew from the blackness that there was a chance it could be silver.

That's a bunch of nice finds. The spoon is cool. Did you find out anything with the mark on the spoon?

Thx! I’m not good with the silver hallmarks. Maybe someone will chime in.

Nice stuff pa. Ive got a few of the brigade buttons over the years. The sterling spoon is a nice find. I thought about braving the cold today but decided the finds will still be there next week when we warm up about 10 degrees.

Keep going over that site it looks far from depleted.

Thx Jeremy! I seem to do OK when the weather is in the 20’s, teens and single digits, not so much. (Actually met up at 7:30 this morning 24 degrees with another Tnet’er to hit a wooded area near the city, found my biggest silver coin spill!) The site from this post is very close to my office, so I will definitely keep hitting it until it drys up. Also a great place to try different settings and techniques.
