I was able to get out for some detecting again. Saturday we went to an old Army training camp in the desert that Gen. Patton used to train men in WWII for fighting in Africa. I found an old Army WWII 13 star button, a .44 cal. cfw pistol casing that was manufactured before 1912. It would have been black powder. I also found a large number of 30 cal. military rifle casings, both blank and live, along with 30 cal carbine casings also military from WWII era. A suspender buckle and an old watch fob that was found on the way home at another old ghost town that we stopped at. The watch fob was for Morris Feed Yards, Morris Kansas and the only thing I could find about them was a legal action taken in 1948. Not sure when it was made, but the pocket watches and fobs hay day was well before then. Also found 10 old wheat pennies with the oldest being 1919. Any help on the watch fob would be much appreciated. I couldn't find much on line about the Morris Feed Yards and when they were in business. Thanks for looking and may you coil find great things. Cool watch fob, I see them posted all the time. But I have never found one myself. Good to see you are getting out on some productive hunts. The weather back in PA is snowy and frigid. Congrats!

Nice finds. The fob is in great shape. Congrats

I really didn't think the fob would clean up as nice as it did. It was a crusty blob before cleaning.

Thanks, Tommy. That fob was a crusty blob before cleaning. My wife said I should have done a before and after picture.

Those Patton training grounds have been hit hard, by many md'rs over the years. So you get 2x the "atteboy" for scoring on the oldies. Nice going !

They have been hit hard by many mders over the years, but there is a large area that they trained in. You can almost always find a keeper or two if you hunt hard and slow.
