Hi all. Hope every one is well. I worked away from home again this past week and had a 6 hour hunt with my Equinox in a field with some house ruins. On this hunt i managed to find a nice old sterling silver ring marked cast sterling, 2x silver coins and a couple of pennies. I also found some bicycle licenses, 2x 1961 medals and some other nice old relics.

Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting to all.

Hi, thanks for the nice reply. I just use my cell phone to take the pictures.

Hi, thanks for the nice reply. I have no idea what someone tried to do to that coin.

Great day's work Brendan, Congratulations. I, too, would like to know how the US Great Seal buttons ended up in SA? Your toy soldier is too mangled for me to make a guess on its origin. Your coin with the cut-outs kinda reminds me of someone wanting to fashion a golf-green pick tool thingy...are there any golf courses nearby? Cheers, Sub 8-)

Hi, thank you for the nice reply. The lead toy soldier was a surface find in the fields and in poor shape. at first i thought it was just a piece of melted lead:laughing7: I do not really know for sure how these Great Seal US buttons ended up in the fields. i have found a couple of them large and small during my hunts in different fields. What i do know is in 1901, the town close by the fields i hunted was reduced to a single standing home by the British during the Second Boer War. The town was rebuilt in 1903.
