Tried a new spot today. A bunch a buckles found. Not sure of the age of them if anyone has insight that would be great. 1943 Canadian dime. And a real heavy lead ball. Looks like a weight of sorts. The loop looks to be copper. It’s very interesting and really would like to know what it is. 73F57479-A218-4F07-BB1D-2992599D0C42.jpeg E3CD7DB2-F520-4133-B968-070ADEC6E22D.jpeg 0CB5AF80-7EB4-4B13-BDE5-73D2A1020CC4.jpeg E128D0A5-1BEB-47D2-871B-12F6B5AEC467.jpeg

The buckles are common horse tack buckles. The lead is a "tear drop" or " water drop" shaped drop shot fishing weight

Tony may be right. A ten pound downrigger ball is a good size for trolling. That's the size weight I used to use in Puget Sound. It merely holds your bait or lure deep, by pinching the line in a clip of some sort. When the fish hooks up, the clip releases your line, leaving you to play the fish with no lead on your line.

Looks like a steel-yard weight to me.
