BOLT or cannon shot? UNSURE.. ANYONE KNOW?

I found this in a civil war tainted area of Florida.
It appears to be a BOLT in a shape resembling an oil filter however I am unable to find any pics similar to this design online.
(this is not cone/bullet shaped like others)
as shown its in the approx area of 3.5 inches wide as well as high.
I found some other items that are civil war related in the surrounding areas such as artillery and pewter buttons.

It's neither .. a weight of some sort, but not any type of projectile.
