    Went to the Fort where I found my 1812 French Infantry button.

    Not much of nothing UNLESS the “R” is from Revolutionary War!! Click image for larger version.

    I sometimes carry a hand sized tree/bush pruner with me for that reason. No reason to whack with a shovel, they weren't made for that. The scissors type twig cutter will save you an extreme amount of time and effort.
