Items found in my backyard with my garret A T max about 6" deep. Was reading in the high 80's on the machine. This coin is the size of a quarter but thinner about half as thick . Any ideas what this coin could be. It looks like the numbers are reading 1918 but they look so worn its really hard to tell.
Very interested in anyone who has any ideas.....

I would have to guess an old Copper token of some sort. I think that would explain the VDI as well. HH

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard JTP5! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

2nd - You might consider posting this find on Treasure Hunting > Coins for more exposure and ID.

Welcome aboard...thinking half cent too.

That is a great find, regardless. What part of the world are you hunting?
