thanks Cru! would you agree 1600's? someone said maybe even 1500's? Not sure on these earlier buckles and what do you mean? they break easily?

Nice...! WTG Metal...are there any known guides or catalogs for 1500's buckles? She sure is a beaut... Now I'm always harping on how things were made back in the day, with pride, craftsmanship and heart. So how well does something have to be made to last THAT long..and still look that good..? That unit was not stamped, cast or machined...but rather formed by hand, one blow at a time. Rather impressive, methinks. Great recovery, Ddf.

1600s you can tell by the type of metal for starters. Yes, they break easily because of there size.

Crusader is correct, because of the size plows, big tree roots, etc. can break them.
