A small section of the foreground was the area I hunted yesterday. After mild temps and an all night rain, quite a bit more of the area became exposed and available to swing a coil. So, I went back for 2 more hours today..........

2019 02 24 2 of 4.jpg

It was a productive hunt and helped chase away the cobwebs in the ears. The real surprise of the day came towards the end of my hunt......

Now this find was the furthest thing from my mind.....and a little bizarre. The playing field is next to a school. Looks like fisticuffs were involved.
Um.......not sure what more to add.........
I'll leave that to you more imaginative folks!!

Thanks for lookin' and happy huntin'!!

For some reason I want to find a silver tooth or a grill. I'm going to put it on my bucket list.

Great finds. But now everyone will want one!

Thanks Blue and tom. It sort of feels like a reverse/perverse tooth fairy..........finding money for the tooth instead of leaving it under the pillow!

They don't make tooth crowns out of silver. It looks like stainless to me. I had one when I was young when my dad wouldn't pay for a quality crown. (ceramic over gold)
How did you determine 40% to 60% silver?
Getting the tooth out would be simple. Hit it with a hammer for a quick "done". Or, take a dremmel to the tooth if you wish to preserve shape.
Definitely a different find. grats to ya and thanks for sharing.

I thought tooth crowns were metal as well. Do the ice cube test on it. I agree smack it with a hammer or you can melt it. That will smell delicious.

Amalgam is a combination of metals that has been the most popular and effective filling material used in dentistry for the last 150 years. Although it sometimes is called "silver amalgam," amalgam actually consists of a combination of metals. These include silver, mercury, tin and copper.

The %, a tough test, but some Silver indeed. Cool.

They do make crowns of silver (amalgams are 40 to 60%) as well as several other materials including stainless The more I study it, your assessment may be correct, but it sure sounded like silver when it rang in my headphones.
I'll have it checked. Sure would "bite" if it is stainless:laughing7:. Thanks for the nod............
