My first really GOOD find!! In one hole I found 5 loose nickels (2)1908, (1)1909 and (2)1911. About 2 feet away I got another hit. I dug that spot and around 5" deep I pulled this old tea cup or something up that had coins in it! After the pictures, I removed the coins. There were 7 more nickels! The oldest one being the nicest....an 1883. I also found (2) 1869 Indian Head Pennies in the same field. The picture is of the nicer one of the two.

Now that is a great start to this hobby!!! Congrats on a fantastic First Find!
I agree with TeddyB...you should display them in the cup, would be a great story to tell people and show them too.
I also would like to ask where did you find them, an old homesite?
Welcome to TNet!

WOW !

You were at the right place at the right time! I bet all those coins were originally inside the cup..someone was in a hurry to drop it and leave it behind that way..the container really preserved them nice.

That is just so awesome I can't even think straight :o

Those 5 nickels that you found "loose" in the hole came out of the ground in great condition.  The ones I find are always brown, sometimes even red or black.  And then to find 7 more!  Thats a pretty good day. Congrats!
