Relic Hunting
Hello Everyone,

Today the weather was beautiful for metal detecting an old farm field. The going was rough with little high tones and any heard were trash.:BangHead: So, I did what any relic hunter does and dug everything. I dug a lot of iron to see what goodies may be hiding in the field. Some of the cool finds were a pair of Ox shoes, Tractor chain, small metal ax like piece and a round lead disk. The interesting find was a Clay Pipe that was in the same hole as one of the Ox shoes.:hello2: The pipe (McDougalls of Glasgow, Scotland) after some research appears to be dated in the mid 1800’s. This makes sense since the homes were built around 1830. Unfortunately, all of the homes; six in total were cleared in the 60’s – 70’s and the large area is now used for farming.

Thank You for looking.:wav:

Regards,

Doc
