my find, what's it worth? $1 1862 Arkansas Treasury Warrant

this was in an old box of family stuff -- judging from the other contents, This is the real deal, NOT fake... any ideas to value? it has a real signature

(I ask because I'm tight on funds and trying to make a little extra $$$)

Unfortunately, your bill is a reproduction, probably printed in the early 1960s for the Civil War centennial. The real 145 year old bills, have much more ragged and irregular edges, than the pristine corners of your bill. I've been dealing in old books and antiques for 25 years and have seen many of those facsimile bills from the 1960s. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Below is a link to the bill you have that sold on ebay. It is one of many Confederate facsimilies sold on ebay in the last two weeks.

ah, well, here's hoping --- I figured it to be real as it was with a lot of other old stuff from the early 20th century
