I was at 99 silver coins (lifetime tally...) going into this weekend. Thought it would be cool to find #100 at the same park woods where it all began 3 years ago when I found my first silver. It took 3 hours, but I finally got a 23/24 signal (which is normally a wheat) popped the plug.

Yeah, #100 ended up being a pretty nice Barber. Here is #1 and #100.

Also found a cool token.

The most intriguing find was over in the area where Iโ€™ve found a bunch of 1800โ€™s coins.

Swept the hole and another 21/21 signal.

Is this a black powder flask?
Here are the coins and tokens from today.

And the handful of relics.

Plus this dude was a surface find, you never know what you will find in the old woods...

Good luck out there!

Great coins and relics Pa-Nc. That is a powder flask. I've only found 1 myself, but I was fortunate enough to find both halves like you did.

Thx! I wasnโ€™t quite sure what it was. Iโ€™ll go back to that spot and see if there any other bits in the hole, spout, etc. It seems pretty small, I wonder if it was a flask for a pistol? Iโ€™ve literally found hundreds of shotgun shell head stamps in these woods and a handful of pistol balls, but never a big musket ball.

Congrats on silver #100 Thad  That's wild that your first silver was a seated. Nice powder flask.

Thx Steve! Yeah that 1891 dime doomed me into this obsession. Iโ€™ll never forget wiping the dirt away and seeing the design for the first time and imagining the last person to hold that coin. Oh well, every addiction has to start somewhere.... itโ€™s been a blast so far. How old do you think the flask is? Any way to date with the simple design? That part of the park probably had occupation as early as late 1700โ€™s early 1800โ€™s.
