Another adventure at Druid Hill Park on Friday and it is my last for some time. I don't want to fight the trash anymore, so I will be looking for 'greener pastures' in the City. Got an IHC and some older wheats, but my favorite find is this .64 cal musket ball weighing in at 404 grains. It is not uncommon to find Civil War era bullets in this park.

I love find CW lead in public parks. I found most of my 3 ringers in a spot in a park that I stumbled upon. Congratulations

Finding a "hot spot" is awesome. It's happened for me at this park before. Been hunting with a number of other detectorists two of them dug a minie ball; not exactly what you'd expect to find here.

''I don't want to fight the trash anymore''
But I assume you will keep it on the list and return again, seems to have plenty of potential for gold left?

Thanks Crusader! I have five parks on my short list and may hit the first on Tuesday....more to come. You know the trash won't go anywhere.

Thx dognose! The musket ball is my fave for the day. You dig a lot of bullets in this park and 99% of them will be modern; this one made the "relic" category.

Thx RVRoamer66! "Greener" for me will be a new spot, maybe less trash, and some new discoveries, maybe even some older items.

I hear ya its always fun to find new spots going to the library can give tons of info. Like old swimming holes camping spots boy and girl scout camps from way back when. Good luck my friend you will have fun where ever you go.I hear many people say digit all but I like the woods not as much trash I could fill two 5 gallon buckets with trash at some of my parks and not move more than 10 ft lol Good luck Tommy

Nice finds, McCDig. The park has been good to you in the past. Digging 50 bottle hunts to find one relic is the way of the city parks. Hope you find the perfect site during your search. Good Luck my friend.
