I discovered a new Roman Military Tower, which completes a less known segment, on the northeastern limes border of Roman Dacia. I identified a square with the sides of equal 6 meter on which the tower was placed, crossed by a road about 1/3 on the part by NW-NE, probably appeared after the 3rd-4th centuries. As I expected, they immediately appeared near the sides of the quadrilateral, the first signs of the correct identification of the discovery, namely iron nails (hobnails) of caligae soles, the standard footwear of the Roman army... Then just outside the eastern side, I’ve found 3 imperial denarii (2 x Julia Domna and 1 Septimius Severus), a bronze circle, one of iron (possible ring), one iron nail, possibly a multifunctional iron tool. A few meters away from the corner of the S-W, I’ve found a roman silver earring made by the granulation technique. Near the tower's location, I’ve also found medieval traces, such as an iron knife, (similar to a dagger) from the 15[SUP]th[/SUP] century, 3 iron fire striker, iron forked arrowhead used for birds hunting between the 11[SUP]th[/SUP] and 15[SUP]th[/SUP] centuries.
Enjoy !

The coins are :
1.) Julia Domna (211-217 A.D.)
Obverse: IVLIA AVGVSTA,
Reverse: HIL A RITAS,
Weight: 1.76 grams,
Diameter: 18 mm ;

2.) Julia Domna (211-217 A.D.)
Obverse: IVLIA PIA FELIX AVG,
Reverse: DIANA LVCIFERA,
Weight: 1.65 grams,
Diameter: 18 mm

3.) Septimius Severus (193-211 A.D.)
Obverse: L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VIII,
Reverse: PROVIDENTIA AVG,
Weight: 1.30 grams,
Diameter: 17 mm

The earring is :
Roman Earring, silver, 2nd-3rd centuries
Weight: 1.28 grams
Diameter: 13 mm

Enjoy ! :hello:

Wow your attention to detail is remarkable! You did a great job describing and documenting your finds! I'm curious how deep in the ground this stuff was being as old as it is? Those coins look pristine. Nice finds. I'm nominating this as a banner!

Great finds, thanks for sharing!

Are all of the denarii the base metal/billon "limes" denarii? That would further confirm a Roman military presence in my mind, very interesting. I hope you find a Roman Plumbata or Pilum buried in the area!
